THE EUROPEAN NATURE TRUST

The European Nature Trust (TENT) was born out of the desire to protect and restore the wild areas of Europe. Founder Paul Lister developed a fascination for the natural world as the result of a love of travel, exploration and a career sourcing furniture around the globe. But with this came an awareness of the need to preserve its rare pockets of wilderness.

It also sparked an awareness that while we, quit rightly, often give focus to the wildlife and landscape degradation of Africa, Asia and the Americas, this is often to the detriment of the fascinating wild places on our doorstep. Thus, TENT came to be, with the goal to, through travel, film, and events, support conservation projects and connect people to nature; to inspire us to save the world we live in.

With a range of experiences from wildlife reserves in the magnificent Scottish Highlands to the stunning panoramic views on the Carpathian Mountains, TENT offer unparalleled access to incredible conservation projects, paired with fantastic accommodation and great food. Blend a sense of discovery and a drive to help change the world, with a dose of luxury.

Take the Appenines Conservation Journey – an eye-opening trip into the Italian Mountains.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Pescasseroli, in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park, you’ll embark on a four-day itinerary that will see you uncover the ancient forests and amazing wildlife of the Abruzzo area.

While your evenings are spent unwinding in the charming Villino Quantilian enjoying delicious wines and beautiful Italian dinners, your days will be spent in search of wolves and bears. Today only about 50 Marsican brown bears remain, most of them within Abruzzo National Park, so to spot one is a truly special moment. The wolves on the other hand, are steadily recolonising the area. From less than 100 remaining at the end of the 1960s, to 7 or 8 packs roaming the park today. Take early hikes to come close to the resilient beings and appreciate nature’s ability to bounce back.

Drift to sleep with the sound of wolves howling, enjoy fine wines following days spent traversing wild valleys in search of astonishing wildlife, and leave with a newfound appreciation for the stunning nature on our doorstep.
